Introducing....... The Toyspeed Boat

not a car discussion but it has the heart of a toyota so must count for something 8)

12 months of hard work has finally seen some results and have got it pretty much all done :D

engine is 18r, 2 litre, push rod motor out of an old celica i believe.
14 foot long (Plus 2 feet of duckboard)
2 batteries (enginer and audio)
stereo system and a few other bits and bobs.
all ready for summer!

it doesnt create torque so is of no use to me lol

fair nuff, you should use the 7mgte im building up.
more torque than jesus, moses and mary put together

18R is a chain driven OHC motor :)

Seems a common misconception they're an OHV motor.

more torque than jesus, moses and mary put together


just keep a good supply of head gaskets at hand

no need 8) if you knew why they blew in the first place you would understand how easy it is to fix the problem.
Arp head stud kit, HKS metal headgasket and correct torque settings will see it right.

From factory the head bolts are torqued down incorrectly to 54 ft lbs...
