GP Thunders are probably up there, 8500K colour temperature. They are pricey around $50-60/pair but good. Had them in my ae101. Also the Takata ones arent bad either.

The spotlight type bulbs, like H1, H3s etc dont look as blue as the H4s do though not matter what type. The colour diff on my ae101 between the H4s and H3s was quite noticeable

I bought these for my car and they have lasted 6 months so far, can't complain for $15 which is $5-10 cheaper than the other ones for sale on tardme.

I have GP Thunders for the last 2 years, they're pretty good for a filament bulb, but no where near the quality and brightness of a HID.

Yeah, but what do you expect when comparing a $50 product to about a $1000 product :P

HIDs go for about $300 per set including ballasts and wiring harness. Its a 30min plug and play job on a mkiv, not sure on other cars.
Just fitted some 6000K dipped on my supra, $&#$% awesome result, much better visibility and and the road signs are *really* illuminated :D

$300 aint alot for the clarity and brightness they provide!, + they make the car look a lot newer at night :P

looks like they arn't exactly legal to use however :? , but seeing as they can be removed, and the old halogens put back in about 30mins, i'll simply do that before the wof.

as long as the headlight alignment is set right and you go for the average colour spec (6000k), then you shouldn't have any problems dazzling people or getting in trouble for the colour.
The place I got them from is http://stores.ebay.com/Genuine-Auto, they are about $350 there. (i got them for 300 because of a group buy)

Only thing is that you need to be sure of is the type of bulb you need as my car is supposed to take 9006J (apparently not aval. outside japan) but 9005's fitted fine.
