Engine weight

I am looking into a possible JZ conversion, but I don't want my car to be too much of a 'lead tipped arrow'

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much a 2JZ-GE engine weighs? (or any variation of 1jz-ge, 1jz-gte, 2jz-gte to get a rough idea)

what are you transplanting it into
i could weight a 1JZGE for you at work it you want to know

a 2JZ-GTE without gearbox is about 270kg, according to this page

Yeah that would be great if its not too much hassle man.

Thanks man. Thats not too high if its correct.

I have searched all over the net and I can't find anything on it. People have suggested up to 450kgs! And others have said they are much heavier than a 1UZ.

Transplant will be into something non-toyota.

280ish sounds about right, a v160 box on its own is 60kgs or so.

J series being iron and the 1u being alloy means indeed that the 1U is a much lighter option
