SW20 Wiring question

Postby gordon77 » Tue Sep 19, 2006 9:40 am

hey i was just wondering...there is a little light around the ignition barrel in my sw that lights up when you open the door and keeps lit for a few seconds after you close it then it fades out. i was just wondering if its possible to hook into that and make the interior lights do the same thing when the door is shut but still have the "off" or "on" feature?

I don't see any reason for that not to be possible...

Use power transistor with heat sink as voltage follower. if you connect the interior lights directly it will overload the dimmer circuit for light in the barrel.
If you don't want the dimmer function, but want just a delayed switch off, use relay to switch the interior lights off/on controlled by light dimmer from barrel.
