20v 4age in ae82 fxgt

if i want to put a 20v 4age in a ae82 fxgt would it be ok to use the blue top 4age gearbox or wud i ned the 20v one?

Yep, it bolts up good. Dunno how long it'll last though :lol:

Should be all good. I'm still running the original g/box that was behind the bluetop that was originally in my MR2. I've had the silvertop in the racecar for nearly 5 years now and haven't done anything to the box.

the only thing thats weaker is the axles, and youll never break them, look at bazda on a gtz box.

It will be sweat, but to be honest, dont bother, just turbo the bluetop!

yea turbo blue top is another idea but iv got a silva or balck top in mind a. plus u cant run tht much boost with a blue top can u?

run 7psi all day sweet. my old one ran 12psi. But i blew it up after a few months. My fx will run 7psi on a vf10. so sweet. its easy to. gimme a text and ill come round and show you my set up when its done.

20v box, bluetop box. same shit. apart from ratios
have ran 170 + kw thru both c56 and c52 for ages with no issues. lighter car tho

only problem i found when running the original bluetop box on my blacktop20v in my ae82 was that the exhaust manifold was over heating the starter motor. so after you take for shortish drive, the starter motor wouldnt engage no more :oops:

Also depending on which set of 20v headers you get, you may not be able to fit your starter motor in there. (some stock headers you can just sneak it past, some you cant)

^^^ I get the same problem with mine, thats standard 4age. Going to take the starter motor off this weekend and put another one on, with lots of greese :lol:

I tried heatbwrapping the starter, but that didnt fix it.. Special service tool helped start it many times..

ended up just getting a box with different bellhousing and used 20v starter
