Taupo Full track trackday **FULL**

Postby Chelles » Wed Sep 13, 2006 8:20 pm

I've had a couple of people ask some questions from the post in the events section. Thought I'd open it up here for others to do the same so I'm not saying the same thing over again.

viewtopic.php?t=50117

- Yes, when I say full track I mean the old and new combined.
- Yes, you must wear safety gear for this track day.
- No you don't have to have a fire extinguisher in your car to run on the day.
- If you've lost your licence for a short time and can prove that you at least had a restricted, yes you can run on the day however you must not drive to the event. (For obvious reasons)
- No, sorry I won't be able to accommodation three drivers per car this time.

Anymore question ask away.

I sure can if you get in and register online :)

As for helmets, no hire as far as I'm aware. Perhaps you could call the Taupo Car Club and see if they do any hiring of that sort of thing?

You can pick up an open face helmet from a motorbike shop for less than $100 (look for Australian Standard AS1698 on a label). That'll keep you happily motorsporting for the next five years or so.

Plus no cooties other than those you bring with you.

Cheers.
Got a couple of mates who are signed up. It would probably be a little pointless for them to buy helmets as they would hardly use them. So if anyone has a spare one they could bring along just in case that'd be awesome.

Thanks.

they have to be 100% cotton (ie not polycotton), and have the pocket holes (that go thru to your pants) sewn shut (ie to stop your nuts catching fire)

Don't worry about SCS (Slow Car Syndrome). You'll be placed amongst cars of similar ability... Then it's just down to driver ability... I got roasted by more experienced drivers... But you're only on the track against yourself. You're not racing the others on there.

Your registration site has one small fault! When idiots like myself forget what they used as a password you cannot have it E-mailed to you.

Hrmmm ... ok let me see what I can do. I don't think I can get the password for you though. I'll consult the oracle :)

And on other news....
If you are keen to come but haven't signed up it might be best you do it real soon. The entries have gone mad today and I’m nearly full. I only have around five spots left before I close off entries.

The very latest end of October please. That way I can get the track hire and safety stuff paid for in plenty of time.

Thanks :)
