Caldina Suspension: Compatibility of GTT and CZ parts

Postby Timmo » Tue Sep 26, 2006 3:02 pm

Right, i realise this is ToySPEED.org but I got rid of the Mr2 and bought a 4s-fe powered FWD Caldina.....The lack of power i can handle (its actually really torquey for an 1800cc) but it handles like a sack of spuds. So, i was wondering if:

1) Sway bars from GTT models or even 4wd models (TZ etc) are able to be retrofitted- Mine doesnt appear to have sway bars which is part of the reason it rolls around so much

2) GTT Springs and shocks can be fitted? Ive asked on a trademe auction and apparently the springs are longer in the 4wd models (therefore ride height may actually be higher if i put them on mine??)

If anyone has a link to a decent underbody/suspension pics of a Caldina id be interested as well....google images wasnt very fruitful.

Cheers in advance

early 1.8 Caldina's in 19X shape are 4S-FE powered, later 1.8s are 7A-FE powered. And the 24X series 1.8s are 1ZZ-FE powered.

Dont bother with GTT shocks. They handle like a boat outa water on gtts. search caldinas on here and you will see  I replaced mine for this reason.
Better to see Mr Revhead for new stuff.

Work has a CZ Caldina. Every time I drive it, I die a little more inside.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

the nonturbo gt standard suspension isnt too bad , better than i would have expected for a wagon. they are supposed to be a long distance tourer after all.
