If you hang out where the retards hang out ... you're going to get to deal with total knobs. So the cunning plan would be to not hang out there

Forums where any matter of "txt speak" irritates the crap out of me.

Oldschool
Rotorhavik
NZPC ( when not moderated )

And many many others.

The thing that annoys me , is when you employ one of these brainless moronic fools with their DX Wagon with tinted windows , cut springs , and a big "WESTSYDE" sticker on the back window. You give them a job to write out packing slips , or order forms , and they use this "TXT SPEAK" in everyday life.

And the use of "au" or "ow" in ANY sentence should be banned , UNLESS it is used in a FULL Maori language based sentence. Please , do NOT use it in an English sentence , good god.

I was driving my little 1200 coupe down Queen Street the other morning , and the little scroats sitting in the bus stop ( with obvious paint abuse evidence ) started yelling the usual "Rark it up bro" , "Oh au , get a wheel going" , "Do a phat skidz!" ... it's amazing , 9:00am on a Tuesday morning , middle of Auckland city , it was is an essentially STOCK engine Datsun 1200 Coupe, we're talking 68Hp on a good day. Just having the ability to do a "PHAT SKID" would be nice , but the middle of Queen Street? On a work day!?

The youth of today... god I am so looking forward to life in New Zealand 40 years from now.
I'm all for tapping it and gapping it... but how fast does her father run?

Whilst I laugh at some language used on the forums etc, I cant say it really annoys me. There are many more worthwhile things to get annoyed at.
Forums generally dont lend themselves to being the best environment for correct speach and spelling & txt talk is simply a modern shitter we have to put up with. Im happy to admit I have a lazy written focus when on forums, I dont check spelling and often make mistakes due to typing fast and missing keys. In saying that Im getting a little old for some of the 'lingo' that gets passed around online and in the general public.
Additionally, I'd assume that a forum like this is more focused on cars rather than if someone can spell something. Sure, if you dont understand or they are just plain wrong give them shit, but otherwise why get all bunched up over it lol
Cant believe im still a member here.

agreed with above , and as for a moderator starting this topic in general car discussion , when quite clearly it should have been in off topic , but then they have the audacity to moderate and complain about people talkin about things in the wrong forum etc !
Get a life its the internet , not a school for spelling , i swear i came here on this forum for likeminded individuals who are into their toyotas and have knowledge to share , not be bitched at for how i spell!!

End of Rant . :?
