What engine you got? 16v or 20v?

on 16 when the dimple on the intake cam is vertical the exhaust is supposed to be at 5 o'clock..IIRC

iirc = if i remember correctly.
with the bottom crankshaft pulley at TDC, theres a couple of dots on the top two pulleys which line up with a couple of notches on the engine mould behind them.

i think thats what you're asking anyway...

Hey,

The cams are right now. Unless you have changed them again.

What happened to your car...

It was going in my garage?

Yeah, he would have.

In which case it will be the same problem remember.

The dizzy is just out, put motor to TDC, take out dizzy, align the rotor to just before spark plug contact one, then put it in.

if you havent got the cams right yet:

take the covrs off and have a look at the #1 section. the lobes for the #1 for intake and exaust should be pointing outwards. that will give you an idea on where the pins should be pointing :)

oh and your timing might be 180 degrees out..

make sure you are on the compression stroke when lining up the dizzy... check that the lobes are pointing out!

matt dunn posted a good reply on how to set the timing.

Basically you clock the crank so its at zero timing and you can see the dimple though the oil filler.

next remove the dizzy and turn it so the dimple is facing upwards. This is sometimes akward because the helical gear is hard to line up properly with the gear on the cam shaft.

If its still not starting bridge terminals E1 and TE1 on the diagnositcs plugs and tell us what it reports.
