rear windscreen wiper removal

Postby mat » Sun Oct 08, 2006 5:32 pm

Hi,
My car is an 82 mz11 soarer and im trying to get the rear windscreen out to fix a bit of rust. I'm having some trouble with the wiper where it comes up through the screen, i dont know how to get the rubber seal out. It's got a metal bit over the top of it with four notches out of it but im not having much luck turning it with some long nosed pliers. is there a special tool i need or is there some other way it comes out.
Cheers for any help.

ps. If your car comes with a rear windscreen wiper do you need it working at warrent time or are you allowed to take it off at all?

Thanks.

from memory when i dismantled the AE111, unbolt wiper from the outside, then pull the unit from the inside
the rubber/metal bit is attached to the window.
if you remove it, remember theres a hole in the window and it will leak

You don't need rear wiper working for WOF.
