faulty 4age water temp sensors - your experiences??

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Mon Oct 09, 2006 8:05 pm

just wondering what sorta problems everyone else has experienced when they had a dodgy water temperature sensor and / or cold start injector on their bluetop 4ages?

my 4age is stuttering and missing randomly, under 4500rpm and it seems worse the warmer it gets (problem is pretty much non-existant when its cold). i unplugged my water temp sensor and my cold start injector, and it made absolutely no difference at all to the idling of the car or how it drove.
if the temp sensor or wiring is faulty and its not putting enough fuel through, would it cause the engine to stutter this badly?
im thinking it could only be enough fuel for when the engine is cold, and not enough once warm. sound right? or would it be the other way around?

Green Temp sensor in the back of the head makes a massive difference, will make the car a coughy spluttery piece of shit.

Common for $&#$% out, buy a brand new one if possible.

oh real i wouldn't've thought it would make that much difference, i thought maybe it would run like sh*t the whole time...but it seemed a bit dodgy when it didnt effect the vehicle at all when i unplugged it!

maybe ill run some test on it then...
can you pick them up from repco/bnt etc? or better off to go direct to toyota?
