Push down on the front of the car, when it bounces up 1.5 bounces is usually acceptable before it settles, any more and theyre poked, wether or not they need replacing or not isnt something that can be diagnosed properly over the internet. (ive seen free safetey checks on advertised on the TV before could be worth a go if ya cant tell yourself? or they could just tell you theyre poked to get a sale :S)

Shorter shocks dont improve handling(make it worse if anything due to less travel, but suspension travels for fags anyway), they hold short springs captive, if your springs are captive ATM dont get shorter ones. If you want new ones and youre old ones arent buggered, the only thing youre going to notice an improvement will be going to TRD or Bilstein shocks.

And as for headers, im not up to play with the 3S at all, bt all of the later 3SGE's ive seen have very nice looking 4-2-1 tubulars, hard to improve upon, maybe just a new 2-1 section... (insert 3S guru here)

Is your ST202 equipped with an engine that's 'red', or 'grey' looking? :D

SS2 do come with Beams 200ps engine.
any 3SGE from 1997 onwards will be 200ps beams ;), unless it is some export/NZ new g'ay shit. Then it will be 5SFE shit ass engine instead ;).

Even some silly RAV4 get beams engine in them (although the cover is grey/black and it is 180hp engine) but change over in RAV4 is in 1998, so my statement is not entirely correct, but it defently applies to 1997+ ST chassis (celica(200ps), caldina (190ps), curren(200ps)) but not Corona (does not get any special engines) , Carina gets 20v (black top) in GT spec (which is AT chassis anyway).

Heh, you are right again :) it seems there are no 1997+ currens. well that leaves only celicas and mr2s with the red top beams engine..

I think caldinas have 190ps motors (not 200ps as redtops do), I might be wrong there..

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

That's not necessarily so. Some SS3 had Gen3 engine (not redtop).

We've debated this before & those who have access to the TNZ data will tell you it's not so. But it is.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure you could get 97+ celicas with gen 3 3S's, I think I saw some on trademe and thought WTF when they werent redtops.

Definitely only redtops in 97+ MR2s though. (Well late 97 when gen 5 began?)
