I'd also like to point out that not everyone was subject to a decent education and alot of people around have had it pretty rough growing up. I had a decent education and I'm $&#$% grateful for it because I know its going to help me someway along in the future. Some people were not given this opportunity and were not given the decision over wether they were educated or not.

I'm not sticking up for dumb $&#$% that dropped out of college in 4th form because they thought they were too cool for school, I just think some people need to be more appreciative of what they have in life..

And don't forget about bloody immigrants like me :).
I reserve the right to make spelling mistakes.
Be happy that I don't post in "yoda speak" (thats what would look like if you do straight russian to english translation) :)
Although I think sometimes I don't make much sense anyway.

I cant type/spell correctly either; and to be honest I dont really care. Perhaps if i was being PAID for spending time on club forums it would be different.

Hhahahahaha. At the engineering firm i work for I get to boss around a few younger guys- 17-18ish. Its funny at the moment because when i ask them to count parts for me and jot the number down it comes back with a rhyme.

143
Climb a tree

729
Draw a line

764
Open the door

etc etc.

Frankly thats not much of an excuse. On the forum I think the level of grammar expected isn't really that much better than a 4th former would've been expected to generate!

But then again, even when I was in Intermediate School (circa 1993) there were people in my class (supposedly academic sorts) who couldn't even deal with doing multiplication or subtraction without a calculator. Thats Primary School stuff, so it follows that if people can't do simple maths, simple spelling and grammar must be an even bigger challenge for some...

... and I don't blame people for ranting on this, I wish I could do it more often. :P

the worst thing about lazy illiterates, is that they can still get jobs a seriously f#ck things up for unsuspecting customers who end up with the wrong stuff delivered, or not at all.

crap, i had to take about 3 passes at that before working it out, and im 18, so should actually be writing like that!

Throughout school spelling and grammar was never my forte, and never will be, but even for me I find that a massive amount of people are even worse than I at it!. Last year at school the teacher would sometimes dictate to the class. They would spend alot of the time spelling out words for people who were 17-18 years old that easily should have known better. And it wasn't a lower decile/socioeconomic area school. And then there's the case of their there they're and you your you're, holy crap I don't think they could be more abused and misused as they are now.

There's a place for txt speak, it's called texts! Not bloody real life when someday someone else might have to rely on what you have written.

Depends whether you want to get critical using GB english, or American english. I've been failed for using the word "learnt" as it doesnt actually exist.

Sorry but you are wrong. Learnt does exist. Its an English derived word. What the Americans do with their language (which is drifting further from English every day), is there own business. We speak English in NZ :) Here is a link to help you understand the difference.
