Yeah, S13 SR20DETs are cheap compared to S14/S15 motors, much harder to find one though, and getting one in decent condition..

it's going to be used for targa street sprint club days etc untill i get serious with it

yeah i've had it for a while now but there's not much std stuff left in it it's all either new or aftermarket

www.msv-racing.com, for any fabrication and general mechanical work, aeroquip hose fittings power steer hoses, oil / water turbo hoses, samco hosing, roll cages, custom suspension, engine transplants, driveline transplants, stainless manifolds, alloy, cro moly, stainless fabrication.

got some of the suspension done now still have to mount the new KONI shocks in the next few days maybe Image

Yes, both the t50 and w55 came with bellhousings that will fit 3s engines

t50 ha i've lost count how many 4age's have screwed those boxes hmmm i wonder how long a 350 - 400hp 3s would take to f**k one as for w55 you still have to modify a 1s etc aswell as the 2c so no there isn't a bolt up without some work then we get into sumps water lines dizzy position lack of parts and the cost of the motor and then getting a good w57 it works out not to far off what i paid for my sr

I thought 1s/2c etc bellhousings did bolt up, it was just there were too long so you have to machine the face of them a bit? (by all means correct me if i'm wrong)

yep 3s = more difficult/expensive to put in and harder to get hp compared to a SR or CA engine (even though it is a dirty nissan haha)

if i was ever tinking about a major conversion i'd rather go for a 20b turbo or even a 13b turbo over a 3s hehe (awaits flame)

Excuse my ignorance but what's so bad about using a hilux diff? Sure its a little heavy but surely the reliability and how easy it is to get spare parts must count for something?

well that depends on which part you are talking about doesnt it there isnt much that hasnt been molestered or modifyd in someway

the hilux lsd isnt a full lsd.
i only found out my self a few months back, but they dont have the lock up ramps. they just have the pre load clutch pack.

so not the best for a track car

and one of the water ways needs some more clearance it's not much but it's still not bolt up

so far up front is gx81 five stud front hubs and shock tubes shortened for mr2 inserts (soon to be koni adjustables) converted to coil over 8kg springs camber tops
as for the brakes they are r32 gtr front calipers with r33 gtr 324mm disc's

coming soon adjustable lower arms rose jointed steering and custom tension rods

some people don't like them and they are good in my case with a detroit locker they make a insane diff

When I was talking to the guy at Steelie Gears (forget his name) when i had my hilux rebuilt he didnt seem to think that the lack of ramps was an especially bad thing. We were comparing the Hilux diff to a Mazda courier (RX7) diff. When set with the correct preload i thought that it would make bugger all difference and it means that the gears are not coming out of alignment. Having the gears always working on the correct operating patch means that there is less wear and more load handling capability... This was a while ago now but it still makes sense in my head :) I dont think i'm missing anything.

3s is bad news.. just plain bad news...
