Well I say fair enough, each to their own - if they wanna make their cars look like that then thats cool.

However I intend to agree with Sergei on this one. These cars would have absolutley no drivability at all. I mean even if they did have ground clearance, 400kw from a FWD car = can anybody say wheel spin 8O. You would have to own a tire plant.

What I don't get is that if they are built as show cars, then why make them so powerful (with the acception of dyno). You could just make them look nice and shiney without the millions of dollars in racing parts just to say you have them.

Ok that comment of mine doesn't apply to the WRX in the picture. Thats just because it looks pretty good and unlike the other two it can get its power to the ground so it has some practicality. Oh and subaru's are the shiznizzle lol

You already nailed it on the head.. part of the show scene is the dyno.. a crap load of points are earned on the dyno!

And apart from the Civic the other two cars are regular road going cars (not show cars) and driven and raced in that trim, drag and track....

Well not sure about Dave's MIVECT, But Charlie runs a bolt in jobby in the WRX every so often... but hey since when did every form of track and or drag require roll cages?

Just for you Sergei bud... I dug this up http://v1.ignitionmagazine.co.nz/cars/70

Well I saw the mirage (cyborg) on the track back when he had 330kw or something and guess what he did.........

Wheel spun the whole way round the track and got killed by all the 'real' racing cars.

how the hell did the link to ignition turn into a peniswaving contest?

you dont need a cage for a whole load of motorsport events, and it doesnt even matter if they are fast round the track , people can do whatever the hell they want with their cars.

all of them appear to be built to a very high quality , and that counts for something for me , even tho i dont give a toss bout show cars.
400kw is hard to achieve in even the larger displacement japanese turbobarges so its nothing to sneeze at .

What the hell? Where did anyone ever say a car has to be a race car (or more specifically a rally car) to be feature worthy??

I don't like bling myself, but I appreciate the effort that has gone into those cars. I've seen the Mirage and WRX do much more motorsport than you and your... errr.... I would mention your car, but I don't know anything about it.

Why are you criticising them again?

It is great magazine, but I don't like stereotype of the chrome and shiny paint and 5mm of ground clearance. BTW to enter real rally you need to have roll cage (along with other things).
I would love to see some real race cars in popular magazines.
But hey it is like asking a teen oriented radiostation to play pink floyd. They still will be playing tasteless Britney Spears or whoever is popular this month.
It is irrelevant what I do or have. But I've seen real rally cars and I know how to tell if the car is the "thing".
The problem is that almost every car performance magazine I open has those sort of vehicles -> chorme + big turbo + flash paint + big wheels + big intercooler -> car with 400+kw and it has plasma screen in it?? if you want entertaiment then get a granvia or something, or get a hiace and do one of those jap kits on. This sort of stuff is not original.

Thats the other thing what pisses me off - I envy bastards who have head start over me , I come from poor country and so many thing I want to do and can't, I'm working 6 days a week full time to build my heap of shit ST165 rally car, and these bastards (irony in meaning of this word huh) at 20 get their vehicles done by some one else, only their input is that they "own" the vehicle and their names goes in front of the cover, although their parents paid some good mechanics/painters to do all the work. Sorry for stereotypes - I like to paint bigger picture than it is actually is.
It is just me and my envy.

Is it just me, or is the intercooler crooked on that Civic?

I cant say its my cup of tea either, but damn - that interior is awesome. I wish either myself or one of my close relatives was rich enough so that I could do the interior of the sedan in carbon fibre

thats not just you, it is crooked, can even see it is in the front on picture. you'd think with all that money and extreme attention to detail with everything else. they'd mount it straight.

Could be to do with the rather sizable hairdrier they've wedged in the engine bay I guess.
