if it encourages a trend from b/s wanker mods to proper built cars. more power to it.
sorry Rev, you have got it all wrong. if you were allowed other than jap cars, they would more than likely get owned by a liteweight kit car with f$ck-all ponies, and that would defeat the point of targeting the masses that own modified jappas which is where Performance Car aligns itself.

And how is this 'superlap' thing going to change that? if you aske me its only going to further segregate things, because in the eyes of the blind superlap isnt a club level motorsport....
But Loonie is onto it, its creating another 'trend' for the masses to follow. However, i'm all for whatever gets the retards off the street.
will it get the retards off the street?? Matt Dunn and myself have promoted our 'open entry' days at Levels Raceway on many forums and still get jack all entries from the street, the last event netted 1/2 a dozen. NZ is full of sheep that are too friggin scared to have a go at something they are interested in, but challenges the current trend for fear that they will get a bagging due to (dragging/circuit/autocross etc) not being currently cool.
the whole concept is very sheepish, if NZPC want to know how fast streetcars are around a given track, i'm sure the offical results from car club sprints could be set up on a ladderboard to find out who has the quickest (XYZ car type) on (XYZ track). for sure NZPC will make a killing out of hiring out the track and charging speccies $10 or so , to watch, but is the average guy going to enter his car , knowing there is a crowd of morons waiting to give him shit because he isn't as quick as others....i think not.
in essence, i believe it will basically showcase wank factor and bling on track, instead of in car shows.
