Rarer, not seen every day. Turns heads + heaps of good feedback from random people that see it.

Easy to make decent power on small mods

Smaller car for the win

Better interior

One of the better standard turbos on cars that era

Agressive looking

(as a guess) Lighter

imo.

Easy power eh? You can geta st205 to low to flat 13's for about $1000.

Agressive looking? Pretty much a stock familia with some repco bonnet vents.

Interior - refer above standard familia comment

A mazda gtr is more comparable to a st185. Not a st205.

Leather interior ftw

Repco bonnet vents, rofl, amatuer. Different front and rear bumpers buddy

You're just a classic example of someone who thinks their car is better than something else when you have no idea of what you're comparing it to.

Its just like when someone with a 20v says its better than a b16a.

Especially when the only people who will agree with you own the same car, which in your case isn't much.

I've owned both! Simliar sort of power, but the b16a is deffo the most fun engine ever! lol.

Im not expecting to win a poll, on a toyota websight.

Im just putting the suggestion out there. Sure you might not think the GTR 1 of 2300 made might not be ahead of the st205, but why is it behind?

Think this way: for slightly more money you get far better looking car, safer, you get more stuff with it (turbo 4wd), WRC heritage (don't see any hondas there), more power, more power to come, you don't get associated with same crowd as you get with ITR.
ITR is and always be a shopping trolley with a lot of power. They are in same class as 20v. I've driven a lot of 20v, ITRs, Civic R, and I will say they are fun to drive, but none of them scare me as my GT4. Although I don't own ST205, I bet it is much nicer to drive then my ST165.

Hmm, better looking car - thats open to opinion - though I actually agree with you on that, actually no. A 98-Spec TypeR has enough cosmetic improvements to be a nicer looking package than an ST205 as well.

Why would someone shopping for a car want to go for WRC heritage? In other threads you have leaned towards WRC as all that defines what is good - what if you wanted something more TRACK heritagey?

More stuff with it does not make it a better car necessarily - despite all its AWD, turbo etc I find Type-Rs much more fun to punt. Theres more power in a GT4, but if you've seen the two on a track at the same time the amount a ITR has over a GT4 in terms of cornering, braking and not to mention lower weight makes it all go against it.

A Type-R is as much in the same class as a 20v as a Skyline GTR is in the same class as a GT4 Celica. And don't tell me you think they are, I don't want to fall off my chair at this time in the morning. The only time I've been scared by a GT4 it was more to do with the driver, and it wasn't a compliment to the car at all.
