Pro doesn't put you in the Pro class.
At least not yet. At this stage the rules have the Pro class only for cars that are sponsored, or have polycarbonate/lexan screens. All privately owned cars run privateer.

some free spark plugs and an accompanying sticker from Repco?
some shiny bit from a supplier that isn't an event sponsor that wants his business's name on your car??
or a car that have been fully built, regardless of cost , that it literally covered in advertising??

As far as I was aware, Pro meant shop owned/built cars. Basically its a class for the more serious things to go in.

i seem to remember that it was making 340odd kw on a near standard 1600 bottom end , i cant imagine it would be very well suited to circuit racing

They actually initially built it for track racing, and it has seen a bit of it too. Probably not running DOCILE's old turbo however

The GT3040R on it had a previous life at the end of an exhaust manifold bolted to DOCILE's old heart

Yeah... details are still a little thin... No entry costs yet. But I would expect it to be around about $100 unless there's big time sponsorship. After all they have to pay someone to run the timing...

And yep... It looks like I won't have to pay anyone any money as I'm the only one going at this stage from TS.

Since everyone here is such a bunch of downers... I thought I'd up the ante a little.

I've got $100 that says...
There isn't one person here (from Toyspeed) who will turn up to Superlap in their Toyota and beat me. It's not that I have a fast car. No, I am driving a pretty much stock 4age powered ae86. Can't be hard to beat me. I'm not even that good a driver. I just have faith that people won't put their money where their mouth is.
So here's the conditions of my bet.
1) It must be a toyota. Registered and labelled a toyota, no "it's made by toyota just under a different name." If it don't say toyota, I aint paying.
2) It must be in the privateer class.
3) You've gotta be faster than me.
Sooo. The fastest TS person (providing they're faster than me) I will pay $100. All you have to do is enter, find me on the day, and race. Once the results are out, the fastest person will get my $100. That should pretty much cover the entry fee (or possibly more).

So. Easy money. Especially if my car turds itself before the event and i can't drive, or worse yet, I fail to complete a single timed lap.

I consider this binding too. So I will be forced to pay out come results day.

I was thinking about doing this anyway as you all may no that I dont care what people think, I just love competitive motorsport, and I would race to try and win regardless!!!

If your choice is between your ae111 and the starlie it'll have to be the ae111. What else ya got.

I say bring on all challengers... I've gotta be one of the slowest people around! But it'll be good to actually see people come out, support the cause (if there even is one?!?!), and just have a go.

PCC Motorkana's are still happening but the website is real slack at the moment and hardly ever gets updated. There's a few events comig up but unless you get the club newsletter, its kinda hard to know when they are on.

Anyway, yeah the AE111 would be my first choice but knowing how most NZPC events are run, they would be putting me in with the Type R Integra's and I know how quick they can be on the track.
As for the starlie... which one? By then we may have a new toy sorted out that will be very quick and might be more suited to the task.
Or I could bring my other toy, which is under wraps at the moment.
