If you have a cambelt failure or a cam timing problem they will touch and the pockets do not line up with the valves.

The engine was running fine, had done about 2 hours at the track when it had a cam timing problem up the back straight.
made no weird noises, just stopped like the key had been turned off,
and then had no compression.
