Once again everyone takes the holier than thou approach. Everyone has done some skids or stupid things on the road, if you get caught, bad luck, if you don't, lucky you.

The only reason this guy is in the news is the 'tall poppy syndrome' the majority of this country suffers from, "hes richer and more successful than me so we have to pull him down a few pegs".

whenever somebody is interested in something thats not club racing , ie drifting or show cars or god forbid spinning the tyres on a car , the whole "i'm telling the teacher attitude" attitude is rampant. i can just imagine what a lot of you were like at school

so what he did a skid, sounds like it was a half decent effort too, how often do you see a big money merc do a burnout. apparently in an earler article they said he was waving and smiling to a crowd too.

minor issue he got caught , and he got punished. im over it now.

oh yeah , i celebrated getting my car running again with a little skid. who wants to argue bout it now

arent you the same guy that got your car impounded last year? Spouting off about I wasnt doing anything wrog, they were picking on me? With that sort of attitude sounds like you got what was coming to you and it sounds like its only a matter of time before it happens again

I dont see it as tall poppies syndrome, I see it as one law for all, just because you own a $250,000 dollar car and can afford high priced lawyers why should you be exempt from the law?

haha not quite brendon , there is a difference between getting punished for something you clearly have done, and something you clearly havent.
my car was impounded illegaly by an officer who didnt have a clear understanding of the law , and for that reason the police prosecutor couldnt do anything with it and it got thrown out of court.
if i had been doing something wrong , and got caught , then i wouldnt have an issue with it.

im all for fair punishment we should aslso chop off the hands of thieves maybe just start with a finger or two for first time offenders.

What's stupid about doing a cool skid and providing some entertainment for a some people? The law does not just cover the reason that it was made... i.e to penalise people doing dangerous things in cars.

He only did what every other person who gets caught does.... I didn't do it, the clutch slipped, I never saw anything... yadda yadda. You ever seen those cop programs? Guy gets caught with a lung full of smoke, joint in hand, and bag of weed in pocket... The usual defence is that they've never smoked in their life.
He has enough money to try and defend the conviction... it works for the low-lifes using state appointed lawyers, so why not try and defend it with some silly excuse? what did he have to loose, a little more money.
