AE82 Dash lights disapeared?

Postby KarlGti » Wed Nov 08, 2006 1:00 pm

Installed a head unit in my ae82 yesterday, didn't touch anything to do with the dash, but now I have no dash lights behind my speedo/tacho. Before I rip it all out is there anything obvious I should check? Can't find any blown fuses in the engine bay or kick panel, and I dont appear to have yanked any wires out from that area. Hmmm

Sounds like you've wired your earth up to the illumination feed.

Chances are your tail lights don't go either.

Check your fuses again.....but fix your wiring before replacing it.

Yep I'm an idiot. Somehow had the ground wire on the head unit connected to the illumination wire. So with a bit of rewiring and a new tail light fuse all is sorted. Cheers for your help
