More rod Questions!!!

Postby TRD_ZERO » Tue Nov 07, 2006 7:08 pm

I pulled the rods out of the silvertop im building and the one rod where the bearing sits between the crank is pretty badly scratched on the rod as the bearing is rooted? I hope you can try and picture what im trying to say as i dnt know how to post pics. So what should i do? can they be cleaned/machined or do i really have to get new rods? All input appreciated thanks. And i must add the bearing closed to the flywheel the is on the crank is also stuffed so it scratches the crank, can i get that machined too?

depending on the condition of either, the rod might be alright and may only need to be resized, and the crank would probably need a grind.

SO they are able to get reground and then they will need bigger bearings right? and the rods ....3 of them have the markings 27m on them and only 1 has 27u. Is there supposed to be one odd one?

Im talking about the markings on three of them are 27m and only one has 27u on it, are they all supposed to be 27m as it seems to be one odd one out with only one with 27u on it.

Dont pay any attention to the markings, as long as the rods are all the same there should be no problem.

im pretty sure its the batch number, as the markings seem to have weird correlations with everything else...
