They should introduce IQ test in the goverment. ie as not let in goverment say anyone below 140 IQ.
I'm sure right now the goverment will average at about 50  (and only because of some small amount of smart people left in there).

It's not that big of a deal, even back in bursary days as long as you could prove to the marker that you had a clue, you got the marks. If the marker can't read or understand what you've written then you're $&#$%, if people want to take the chance to save writing a few letters, then go for it.

And I doubt you'll get away with using it at all in English exams without suffering heavily on marks

And they'll also be able to make idiots out of ~98% of the population and probably be harder to be spotted when doing their villainous scheming by the brighter ones, so get all sorts of evil things past us.

Also, text speak should in absolutely no way be endorsed. I see where they coming from with recognizing famous quotes etc - I remember doing a test at school where they used incorrect/missing/jumbled words.... nothing wrong with staying with that though. Text speak just best be sooner forgotten as far as I am concerned.

Christchurch teenager Cathy Adank, a Year 11 student at Avonside Girls' High School, said most students would be surprised to hear text language was acceptable in some exams.

"That's great. You'll just be able to get your ideas out quicker. It's so much faster; you can get through the exam faster," she said.

Close friend Harriet Prebble did not agree. "I think it's a terrible idea. When you start progressing in the world, people judge you on the written language, and spelling things incorrectly seems sloppy and lazy and gives a bad impression," she said.

What a load of bollocks. If you need to write shorthand to 'get your ideas out quicker', then chances are you have no command of the proper English language in the first place. Txtspk requires you to think about how to shorten words. All that time you 'save' writing in txtspk will be taken up in thinking on how to write in txtspk.

Her friend Harriet is onto it though. Thats exactly what popped up into my mind. The real world doesn't use txtspk. You don't like it, go dig ditches for a living.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
