Ok. Still I feel the poll produced an interesting result. Nuff said really.

AU!

Enter the issue with a self selecting poll!

I did mean boy racer over bogan, so the poll should say that. I just strung a lot of terms together and bogan was the last... I dont mean skin tight black jean with black ripped jack daniels t shirt wearing old XF ford driving kinda bogan. I mean boy racer "bogan"... if you get my drift.

That is the perfect example of what a bogan is, i thought. What is the other sort of bogan?

You are right, that is the perfect example in my mind also! Hence why the poll is skewed and not examining what I meant. A boy racer bogan in my opinion, has a cheaper car he spends most disposable income on, hangs out on Colombo St with the hood up on the Jap car, does skids and goes to organised burnouts, you know the typical TV3 news "boy racer". Thats its intention. Not sure if any of this is valuable or whatever but there you go.

To be honest

Toyspeed doenst have a vibe.

Its full of $&#$% Know it alls and People who know what they are on about.

Everyclub has that.

If some guy wants to get a shitty car eg a Nissan Sentra and do it up with chromies and neons and stuff... Then why should we comment on his work if he doesnt ask? I find it bullshit that people can comment on peoples stuff when obviously if he had more money he would have a SC300 lexus or an altezza etc etc.

How is The guy in the Nissan Sentra different to the rich guy in the Lexus SC300? They both like their cars and are doing as best as they can with the money :)

I think stereotyping the older cheaper cars to boyracers and burnouts is bad. Because I guarentee you that the Richer owners may not do burnouts but they drive around in their 4x4 Tanks and drive everyone off the $&#$% road taking their $&#$% 6 year old spoilt kid to the richest primary private school 100m down the road.

$&#$% me off some peoples attitude towards other guys who arent as fournate as the guys who can afford rich cars. And what $&#$% me off more is some of the people on toyspeed who dont associate themselves with "boy racers" because they are too high and mighty and dont do burnouts or drag race or speed. Thats a $&#$% lie I can bet $10 :D(im a cheap ass) that everyone on this forum that can drive has at least once in their life Sped and Dragged someone at the lights. So we arent all angels :) .

(this is a bit off topic hehe)

Dunno if i answered the topic question but thats my monthly cry :)

Stereotyping, like you have done with the "Richer" owners, is a fact of life... heck even the law is called "boy racer" for doing a burnout.

Because you can have a guy with lexus on benefit and financing that lexus, while guy on the sentra could be a millionaire who does not give a rats ass what he drives ;).

Same can be said for all the faggots who drive new WRX, EVO, GTR. You heard of finance? You can buy anything these days whether you are rich or not as long as you sign your soul away to your finance company of choice...

I would say these forums are more immature than a few out there.

I have found there is a great number of spanner spinners on this forum with some helpful know how advise also.

Maybe we (people that are enthusiastic about old yota’s) are the new age bogans?

Also does anyone know what age is the cut off for boy-racers? Am I a boy-racer when I drive my brand new Holden fast or only when im revving out my 85 Corolla GT?

Graham.

No no, you STILL dont get it.
It's not that you're implying that the guy in the lexus is more than likely richer....
It's that you're implying that every rich guy has a trophy wife that cant drive for shit in their 4x4, and has spoilt brat kids that go to a private school, 10 houses away......
which is a blatant stereotype about 'rich' folk.

And then to top it off, you moan that it's unfair that every 'car enthusiast' gets tarred with the 'boy racer' brush, and that too many people make stereotypes.
