vvt wtf!

so i made up a vvt light today to see when vvt is on or off.made light with 500oohm restor,positive too 12v and negative too vvt plug.when i tryed it the light was on constant so i thought i would UNPLUG THE VVT plug at solenoid.....then drove home and the light would come on at about half throttle!!!!???either way plugged in or not couldn feel much difference!jus had vvt pulley done the other day too.when i got it done as the other one was ffckdd the car seemed slower AFTER BEING REPLACED!??? :cry:

any help much apperciated :oops:

also it is running a auto ecu and loom and is in a manual car if that helps?because on ecu there is only 1 vvt wire.

feed a neg an 12v to the solinoid and listen for it to click see if its working, and yea the vvt light will come on even if the solinoid is unpluged as the output is still there... but not made it to the solinoid....

hey thanxs man..ran a earth to 1 point on the vvt sol and a 12v to the other point.and im sure i cant here nothing!is it a loud click?

i did search......
so guessing i need a new vvt solenoid?what are these worth and do you jus un bolt it and chuck a new 1 on or what?
