No Pin 14 is +5v not +12v, you'll burn it it out trying to run that much voltage to it.

Use the "VC" pin on the the 16 pin connector for a +5v signal.
3sgte 09661------.If I took it off the boot, would it be on the underside? oh well ill look any way .

Nah it's the number on the end I need. Doesn't matter anyway as you can take the top off the ECD and read the pin assignments on the circuit board.

SPD is on the 22 pin connector, VC +5v is on the 16 pin connector.

Cut the wire going to the SPD pin ( should be a purple colour) attach the wire from the ECU end to pin #12 and the other end (from the speedo) to Pin #1.

Tap into (i.e. do not cut it) the VC wire for a 5v source and attach that to Pin #14.

Wire Pins #2 & #7 to earth (either the ECU earth or chassis ground shouldn't matter which)

OK awesome 8) just a couple Questions . How did you number the pins on the I/C? and by attach you mean solder ?and to tap into the VC wire just remove the plastic without damaging the wire and then solder a wire on .Then tape it up ,

If I knew there was a demand for speed cut defenders I coulda sold you my one
Its been in my car for as long as I've owned it, and its never been used. You'l crack 180 once or twice then either get busted by the cops go to jail and get ass raped by bubba, crash die, go to hell and get ass raped by demons with pineapples, or go wow so thats what going past 180km/h feels like, and never do it again...

And after reading many previous 'anti boyracer' posts on this forum, I'm suprised so many people are helping him out when its blatently obvious this is going to be done on the street :?

Yes it is your car and you can do what you want with it, and track days are all good, you just didnt mention anything about them in your previous posts.

My 'issue' if you can call it that is that you were talking about doing this on a public road.
And I simply brought up the fact that previous attitudes on this site regarding such things have been along the lines of 'dont do it its wrong bla bla bla' I bring it up in a light hearted way and I still get flamed for it.

Whats that got to do with it? 6 lanes or not, 180kph+ on NZ roads isnt particularly sensible nor safe.

Hang on, isnt the SW20 speedcut higher than that? I'm sure mine never cutout until it was past 180 on the stock ECU.

think you may find all the mr2s cut at the same speed, about 180. its just your speedos arnt accurate.

All the ones I've driven cut at 5500 in 5th, or just off redline in 4th, both of which work out to around 200km/h

Ok, then at 200 then instead of 180. But were all the speedos reading exaclty 200?

Reason for that, is ive driven 3 ae101s to speed cut, and all cut at around 190ish (working out with revs, gear ratios and wheels), but the speedos varied from 195 to 220ish. (mine was the the 220ish, it was horribly out, yet at 110 my speedo read 109ish (radar trailer proven)).
