Plausable but not practical.

the reson being is he is turning it into a show car and the avaliable rims in 5x100 18" dish that he wants are practically no exisatant but there is a huge range in the 5x114.3

depending on the offsets, might just be able to have the hubs re drilled to the 5x114 pattern...

these wheels sound like they were meant for a RWD turbo of some sort?...

Another option would be using A bolt on spacer to convert 5x100>5x114.3, it's very cheap, & is fully certifiable, would also be useful if he is planning on using some sort of widebody kit

Yeah, the bolt on spacer route would be the least expensive and trouble free option.

Definitely require certing, or use them for show purposes only?

The bolt on option is generally a no go for FWD's/4WD's unless you want massive track increases and flares etc. As they already run around a P40 type offset you will end up needing P55 or more wheels to get back to standard track. Assuming the wheels you want are a more RWD type offset you effectively double the problem. Some certifiers aren't happy with you pushing the wheels out too far on FWD style hubs and it can do nasty stuff to steering geometry.
Hubs off a Supra are probably a no go but look at SW20 MR2 and I believe some later model Camry's ran 5x114 as well, can someone confirm that? You will probably find the Camry front and SW20 rears are the closest solution. Try cross referencing the bearings as a starting point.
