Picked up the full kit , turbo, manafolds, external wastegate, feeds second hand off ST205 Celica

The turbo is in pieces and will need a full rebuild.

I have done a search on toyspeed and got some apparently rated between 350- 450 HP at the fly wheel ???

The same kit as Adydas apparently.

Could someone give me an indication of how much it would be to rebuild turbo.

Trying to decide if I should rebuild and use it etc ...

Comments, info, anyones experience appreciated

Thanks

Heres the cost of a rebuild kit,

K3T 3070 ￾￾84,000 YEN aka 84000 yen = $1025.27 NZ Dollars
Info sourced from the Blitz.co.jp website.

Heres a ballpark idea where the " ratings " came from, but my turbo did 220kw @19psi aka 300hp.

It " looks like " the turbo realistically is able to produce 240kw at the wheels, would i be right in guessing thats about 450hp at the flywheel? i guess well know within a matter of weeks what the case is anyway..

I talked to Cully at Alltech and they have the kits and can do a rebuild. I tried to calll you back, before realising your number was in the mobile the burglers took, sigh...

Could you drop it in to Alltech for them to have a look?

I did I mention what a lucky lucky bastard you were to get this :-P

Yip i will pop in and see them tomorrow and get the low down.

So 240kw at the wheels , not bad.

I am at 220kw no so may be worth the upgade. I have new 800cc going in now as it was the injectors that where maxed out last Dyno.

It looks like it is a very well put together setup.

Any one eles have any more info ?

youd really spend that much to gain 20kw atw? i think you'd barely notice the difference between 220 and 240kw. but its all up to you. you might notice a slight improvement if you were counting seconds in 1/4 mile drag racing or sumthing.

if it were me , id be looking for something that would pull up to 260kw atw , then you're starting to push the limits of the engine after that anyway. there are evos around that have run very low 11's , and a couple have done 10's with that power.

also bear in mind that kw atw is misleading as there can be huge differences between dynos

Yip thanks for that flygt4, yes i would want to upgrade to a set up that will give me more than 20kw's. Thanks for your input.

Seems to be hard to get too much info on these kits and just what they can do. As usual will no doubt depend on other mods

Has any one auctually used this set up themselves or know someone that has?

Ive got my feedback from member online here that ran my turbo on his ST205 for a week before the engine went ca bang!

It did 220kw at 17psi, with 450ish cc injectors i belive and stock other than that.

So with supporting mods gaining more than 20kw shouldnt be unachivable.

Injector cycle for 218kw is 89% for 550cc, with pretty lean A/F although pretty nominal ignition timing on mine.

would be foolish to run them at 450cc.

Anyways, 20kw is 20kw, do you know that honduh owners would kill a kitten just to get 20kw? (Okay maybe not but they'll do all sorts of crap like ICEMAN(tm) cold air intakes) Sp00n exhausts, brake master cylinder warmers, just to get that extra 1kw?

The injectors were 550's (Stock St205) But were still way to small.
And on my setup, which is now Adydas' The wastegate was set to 17psi, but it crept to 22psi nearer to redline.
The wastegate was either too small, or the piping to the wastegate was too small.

For a week.

LOL

Motor had only done 70 thou k's. but I'd had it for about a year and I wasn't overly nice to motors back then. Nemisis has/had my old bottom end, he was impressed.

The motor gave out at 7000 in 4th gear. But to be honest I think the motor wouldve coped with it fine if

- I hadn't of driven it for 2 weeks with the standard ecu and Blitz turbo kit
- Better fuel system - The stock system was at its limits
- Motor had less hoon k's

If I was to do it all again I wouldnt use this turbo, it was extremly laggy, I wasn't getting full boost untill almost 5000rpm, which made for a very small power band.

I'd like to see someone GT28RS or 71r a 3sgte, These are nice turbos for 2 litres, I've used both on sr20det's and the power is much more useable.

You my friend, have been living under a rock.

made 218rwkw with the GT28RS @ 16psi. On a $500 gen 1 engine with 550's off USDM Supra. Gots the blown head gasket coz the tuner screwed it up.

I've heard there is an SW20 with a GT3071R running around down in Christchurch, the guy who told me about it went for a ride in it and claims it has power everywhere... though he has a GT3582R on his 2l so anything which has boost before 4000rpm probably feels punchy to him.

Don't MrBob have a SW20 with some huge GT turbo hanging off his motor? I'm keen to see the mods list and a dyno graph on that.

Im hopeing for 260kw+ with the better internals, Way more boost ( 22psi ) and fueling support etc.

But realistically im happy with 200kw, I just want my dam car back.

I dont plan to keep this turbo forever, its been good motivation to get other work done, Nothing saying i cant simply " slap " a more suited turbo on in the future.

and with hopefully more than a week to play around with it and the better setup of mods, lighter car ( ? ) it may do the trick happily for a year. ( or 2 months hahahahha )
