Turbo Starlet ECU

Postby SNIPER » Sun Nov 19, 2006 1:12 pm

What would I be looking at paying for a turbo starlet ecu, loom & map sensor? I have started the process of collecting parts for a turbo conversion for my cynos & I need to upgrade my ecu etc. Also is there anyone out there with one they dont need anymore?

What year ecu are you after??
I have one or two lying around but they differ from year to year and manual and auto.

Might have a map sensor but again depends on the above.

No loom sorry need both ours

Answer these questions and I can answer the price question 8)

I've been told a ecu from a late model manuel turbo starlet will do the trick(my cynos is a 1995 gen 2 el54). I found a map sensor on trade me so dont worry about that, & I guess I have to keep looking out for a loom.

I will tell you one thing: we fitted GT starlet ECU (EP82 man) to manual cynos (EL44?), it was straight swap no loom change needed. I opened up both ECU and they had almost identical pin outs. We used GT injectors and map sensor. We left Cynos inlet manifold. Although I think ACIS did not work...

But all GT starlets are 1300. So how is it going to matter what starlet ecu you have?

Ok the Cynos was 1500cc, manual. ACIS = Acousticly Controlled Induction System (from memory). ACIS has a controll solenoid which is trigger by RPM either from ECU or somewhere else.
Cynos runs fine with 1500c with Starlet GT ECU and Turbo + aftermarket fuel pressure reg. Made ~103kW at the wheels on TP dyno (@ 11psi) with a very rich mixture.

I thought the el44 was the 1300 never mind. I got a fuel pressure regulator on the way, I allready have a turbo setup i got off trademe parts include:

(This is from the auction)

Custom piping made by Pitstop from air filter to turbo, from turbo to intercooler, etc. Custom exhaust manifold, ex VR-4 front-mount intercooler and rebuilt T-25 turbo with wastegate. This kit will give a dyno proven 110hp over standard. My Glanza went from 100kw at engine, 133hp, (100hp at wheels), to 210 hp at wheels.

this should give similar figures on my cynos which will be a good increse in power.
