Was your car efi?

if not you're better off grabbing an efi fuel tank and all the fuel lines etc before you get it going and it leans out in a corner and dies.

if it is.

Any EFI one yeah, 4age or 4afe should be the same I think. Don't forget the fuel tank as you need some surge protection with efi.

The problem with carby cars is they are quite simple and totally different to their efi counterparts. I had major troubles getting a 3sgte loom to work in my corona, just takes a lot of time and a few diagrams.
Leave the original dash and wiring in there. Strip down the smallport loom so you only have what you need in the engine bay and get it running seperate to the other electronics. Treat it as a standalone aftermarket ecu running fuel, ignition fuel pump etc and you should be alright. Trust me, as soon as you start thinking of re wiring the kickpanel fusebox etc you are going to hurt yourself... they are too different to just Rambo in and fix in a day.

i dint do my cars loom, but from what i understand most of the work was in the engine loom not the dash, it was more a modifyn the original dash loom to fit a 4agze ecu plug, basically putting a 4afe dash loom plug onto my 4agze plug,

not sure if that helps, but you seem pretty lost lol

Ha!!! I learnt the hard way :( (and still wouldn't do a carby to efi conversion without an aftermarket ecu.)

As BMM did say, you only need to adapt a few dash wires to the new ecu.

Engine check/warning light (important for fault finding etc)
Start
Ignition
Stop light
Speed sensor (need some signal, accuracy isn't so important on the blue/redtop ecu's afaik)

Have you got all the relevant diagrams etc? Be pushing shit uphill if you don't. What engine have you got exactly? tvis?

Basically yes.

I think you should get some help from an auto electrician though dude. If you fry your ecu it aint good and I can't help you over the net and be sure you'll understand what I tell you to do. I haven't got the time sorry bud.

If I do get a chance later I'll find the pinout diagram specific to your engine and see what I can do but no promises.

Not quite colour to colour.

My car has an interior loom out of a FXZS (to match to the smallport engine loom), some of the colours are different on the two looms and there were a couple of extra wires on the interior loom that were left over as well (not required).

Definitely wait for a pinout diagram otherwise you will risk frying the ECU. You can borrow my Haynes manual with wiring diagrams for the different Corolla models for a couple of weeks if you need it, but beware that the wiring diagrams aren't the easiest to interpret!

If you got to Pick a Part make sure you note which model and engine you are grabbing the loom out of, also make sure you get the right plugs (the TVIS computer plugs are different to the smallport ones but I
think the plugs for the 4AFE are the same).
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

No, as I said there are a few extra wires and the colours are different.

Sorry but I'm a n00b when it comes to wiring... when it came to matching the two looms on my car I just gave the car and the book to my boss and asked him to do it for me (as far as I know electricity is just smoke... it must be, because every time I blow something up it smokes! ) So no, even if I had a spare afternoon you would NOT want me touching the wiring on your car - trust me on that one
