Wow.... some characters came out of the wood work for this one - I would've liked to have been there for that. Nice to see another successful track day organised by Chelles though!!!

Is Rob (Hellishly stickered up JZA80) perusing this forum still?

Haven't had a good look yet. I'm hoping to have a really good poke around this weekend...
BUT... After the drive home there was no signs of oil leaks other than the one around the distributor (which I knew about).
Still. Better I got home i suppose!
Think I need an oil cooler...
And hopefully by Feb 07 I'll manage to make a full day!!

Both of my mates (white 200SX and white 96 WRX) loved the day and are already planning to be at the Feb 07 day. Also turns out the white 200SX pretty much destroyed all the exhaust gaskets, and managed to warp the manifold turbo flange...

Our mechanics hate us... :D

Great to meet up with some familiar faces again!

Enjoyed my battle with the Supra's in my last session.....learnt alot from Dave (60CUBA) that slick tires is really the only way to go when you have alot of power. My old street tires were making life interesting to say the least

C u at the next one guys 8)

Mate you should try for a set of Semi Slicks with the AWD I think you'll be sweet and there road legal aswell.....

Thats the first time Dave has used slicks all round he normally just mixes and matches normally he just use's slicks up front and Semi's on the rear but with his car he needs to run them on all 4 corners as the semi's just don't do the job and his car is very tail happy with these tyres.

Hey Coryn,

Yeah mate my S02's were shot by lunchtime so I got no choice now but to invest in some nice semi slicks. The JZA rotors are holding up nicely btw, gonna fit 332mm 350z rear rotors in the new year to balance her up a bit more. Dave was out braking me quite easily and i'd like to be more competitive in that area :)

I wish I had been out with you guys earlier but I wasnt happy with the strange noise I had in the LR. Maybe once thats all done I can turn the boost up to where it should have been :P

Awesome day.....roll on Feb 06 :)

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

did anybody get any times on the day? from photo's that dad, my fiancee and i took, we managed to work out roughly what times a few people were pulling. the 3 turbo'd mk4's (dave, coryn and rob) were pulling about 1:57, i pulled a 2:03 in my jza70 mk3 supra, but times were varying wildly out to 2:13! (damn brakes and over heating). dad in his n/a auto white mk4 did a 2:09, and the one session i did in his i did a 2:07!! needless to say, i rubbed it in his face that i was 2 seconds faster in his own car!!

did anyone else get any times?

photo's should be up soon, will post link when i get it from dad.

Muppit - the mad 4age AE82 got down to a 1'56.5 I think (I did tell him)
Al in his Daihatsu - I timed him at 2'01 and someone else later on saw him at 2'00

Al - I might start by sending a video tape to you... it will be 2 or 3 gig I would guess, uncompressed digital video.

I think Dave and I talked to a guy on the wall after our 3rd heat got Dave @ 1.54 and myself at a 1.55 but again without proper timing gear it is pretty much here nor there with regards to accuracy but a good guide anyways.I think there were about 6-8 cars that were within a couple of seconds of one another and a interesting spread to.I mean with GTR's Supras,Ae86s,Evo's and Subies you got a good spread of brands there running real well..

I found that this track is really hard on the rear tyres especially.I no a few cars were using Slicks I was using Semis but I think Slicks would be the way to go.I knew my car was heavy but with the quick changes in direction this track really excentuates that fact. With it being a new track for me anyways I think there are 2 area;s especially where I no if I was a bit braver I could make time but as they say better luck next time..

The timing device I borrowed showed my best time as 2.05.9 Last time out on track 4 I managed a 2.04.6 about a week or so earlier. I think the new road tyres I put on the car (still can't find two more semi-slicks) were too new and green, as they were moving around all over the place. Don't look so new now tho;)
