removing rocker covers

hey

going to replace my 4age rocker covers with painted up ones..

i have removed the rocker covers off my spare motor and cleaned and painted them up. when i removed them it was realy had to get them off.

whats the best way to remove them without damaging head face. got new gaskets as well - dont need to use a goo aye?

the leaver the cover up abit and then the washer things pop up and you can pull them off

The washer things conform to the shape of the threads, so I just unscrew them. I wind them off using a small flat head screwdriver, and gentle application of a hammer.

yeah they're under the chrome nuts, ive tried unscrewing them but normally they're too tight...

the rocker covers look awesome, how did you paint just the raised letters blue?

i just grinded back the letters on mine so its all smooth and then attacked it with some fine sand paper and autosol, came up mint, did the same with ma inlet and fuel rail

um just carefully carefully with a fine brush lol.

got them on and all sorted - easy enough to get washers off have to turn mine off, really needed new ones there kinda baked hard. spare motors ones were the same.

- lookn stylie brick, wonder how long that paint on the exhaust will last?

- yea that blue and a dark blue were the only shades of blue they had so worked out good.
