Oil choice after rebuild

Im up to 3500 k's in my 180sx (CA18DET)
engine was full rebuilt and am just curious if thats enough running on mineral oil before I put mobil 1 in it ?
Whats everyones opinion..?

Why Mobil 1? Basic semi-synthetic 15/40 should do you fine.

$&#$% mobil one, far to thin. IIRC someone on here mentioned it turned to jelly in their sump too. Even GTX protec is turbo tested.

Never had problems with that oil... generic shit that it is.

What mobil one or protec? 3s's burn enough oil as it is with out giving them something thinner :lol:

I'm not sure about CA's but my SR20 needed really thin oil, I was using Formular R 5/30... So it may be better for this engine to have the thin oil.

Thats probably because SR's have those stupidly small oil squirter's in the head.

For your money there is a lot more suitable oils out there for your engine.
Personally I like Castrol, theres a couple of different grades of Magnatec, 5w30 and 10w30, I prefer the 10w. TXT Softec is very good as well.
But then so is GTX. Mobil One isnt the best oil in a lot of cars, and its not cheap
If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks it needed replacing anyway!

its a ca thats been built reasonably well from what i know (forgies, all shot peened etc), so id say shell be right with whatever.

She didnt get the nissan - shit engine syndrome. :D
