I dont see how a filter will save your fuel efficiency at all?

Unless it filters to good and makes the car run lean because of extra restriction in the line?

If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

http://www.greenfilter.co.nz - they are actually cotton air filters. Can't vouch for their performance/effectiveness but I guess if people like WRC teams and the BMW F1 team use them then they must be a fairly effective alternative to K & N
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

Apparently so. I just did a quick Google search and found a bunch of FIA Technical Delegate reports from the 2006 USGP where they mentioned air filters being replaced in Parc Ferme on multiple cars. (it's actually kinda interesting reading... http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/ ... ort_06.PDF)
