Just after some 4age advise.

ok i got a complete bluetop tvis 4age a while back and yesterday i got a redtop tvis for $200 with everything, now my issue is which engine do i use in my starlet, what is each engines pro's and con's are the parts from both interchangable, i am gunna keep it n/a with lots of headwork and quad throttles so if any1 has any ideas please let me know.

Exact same head except for cams and cam gears, blue top has a more agressive cam profile, red top has lighter cam gears.

Blue to has 18mm piston pins, and a smaller crank so is weaker but revs better in theory.

Red has 20m piston pins, bigger crank, same as all other GE's and GZE's, so is stronger but isnt as free revving as the blue top.

Ive had both motors in my car, red top TVIS with stock cams and flywheel was a sack, but once I put in blue top cams and a blacktop flywheel it was great, but unortunately blew it up. Now ive got a Bluetp with blacktop flywheel and its exactly the same as the red top, doesnt feel any different, and still hasnt blown up.

So the engine are so similar, id go for which ever looks to be in better condition, but what ever one you use make sure you use the blue top cams and try source a lighter flywheel.

so are both blue and redtop tvis bigport, im not gunna be useing the cams off either as i have a pair of hks 272 duration and 10mm lift and a pair of hks adjustable gears,

Yep both big port, smallport is better, but doesnt make that much difference to real world drving. Big port is fine. Weve got a Big port in my 30 and a Smallport in the AE92, both go good.

what clutch and gbox are you useing with the blacktop flywheel, do you know if a t50 22spline would use the same clutch u have

212mm Clutch to suit Blacktop, with a T50. All T50's are 21 spline input, so will fit all 4age input shafts.
