Bedding in Ceramic Clutch

How'd i go about bedding in my new ceramic clutch (got it in and running about 9 last night!)

Anything i need to do/shouldnt do? or is it similar to a normal clutch?

just try and go easy on it for the first 100kms or so till its worn in. if you accidentally glaze it, its permanent

500kms of city driving for me.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Bedding in period is 500km of stop/start city driving...

dont just jump on SH1 and drive for a total of 500-1000km's

make sure you change alot.

some say that it should be 700 gear changes around town. :)

Well it wouldn't be too hard to rig up a counter on both sides so it counts every time the gear goes up/down...

But in fear of getting beaten up for being too g33ky I will not entertain the idea any more... :P

just drive forward and backward on your driveway(if u have one) for 350 times, then you get 700 of gear changes! :D

Jeezh she started off not being so bad, but shes gradually becoming stiffer! Though i got to say, very nice, makes the driveline feel alot... more responsive.

If anyones thinking about going ceramic, go for it. No were near as bad as i thought... though hillstarts in reverse ALOT of fun >_<

Though my engine check light has shown its ugly head... god dammit!

Only problem with ceramic is they're not much a fan of being dropped all the time. Great for street and track use though.

You say that now. It'll be a new flywheel in 6 months (every six months) - I'll put money on it unless you only use the car for circuit/strip work.

Ceramic = useless for a daily driver who doesn't like replacing flywheels.

I had a 5 puck ceramic with a 2000lb pressure plate and i heard heaps of stories like you'll kill your gearbox.............its gonna blow and your flywheel wont handle it and so on. In the end i had no problems it wasnt much fun for town driving but hey it lasted a long time and was well worth the money. Just be gentle sometimes :twisted:

You should see the groove it left on my pressure plate / flywheel.

Yea, not likeing this rain the rear wheels have a habit of twitching :(

Litterally replaced EVERY oil seal there is on my car. There is no oil coming from anywhere!

and trust me, if this clutch died via oil, i'd put the auto back in >_<
