Woobly Wheels

Hey,

Took The sw20 to albany toyota to get the rack end done. They took it for an alignment afterward to the local wheel monkey. When i got the car back it gets the wobbles big time from 100k's up to as fast as im prepared to take it. Took it back and they reckon its because i have factory skyline wheels on it and it doesnt fit quite right. Does this sound plausable to you guys? He said i need to take it somewhere and get some sort of adaptor fabricated.

However Steve at Frank Allen Tyres Glen Innes (top Bloke) had no problem making her sit perfect and he cant recall any issues.

So. 2 questions.

a. is what albany toyota are saying plausable?
b. anyone know a good place (preferably on the shore) where i could get something made up to suit?
c. anyone have any idea roughly how much it should cost.

I would like to note that albany toyota did give me a free wof for my trouble...

Does it wobble through the steering wheel? If so then its likely the balance is out on the front wheels. Maybe they knocked a weight off?

I had the same thing when I got some new tyres put on my Corolla's mags. Got it done here at work and the dude balanced it up.

It wobbled like a b*tch, so the other day I took it to a tyre place to get a proper balance.
Turns out one of the mags has been hit and is not running true :(
Not happy!!!

may not be locating on the centre bore of the rim properly,
also may be something simple like a seperated tyre.

Thanks for the replies guys,

Ill take it for an alignment & balance tomorrow,

IF that does not fix it and its not lining up with the center bore properly do any companies come to mind that could make it work?

Umm, yeah I got a mag repaired at a place called Arrow Wheels. They used to be on Rosebank Road from memory, but I have heard they have moved.
