yeah thats pretty much it all there. im doing it to a completely original fwd 4agze now, so ill be able to tell you everything soon. but pretty much all you really need to change for it to work is the inlet manifold and umm...the spigot bearing in the back for the gearbox. water pump and alt dont need changing or anything, you can just make up waterlines to adapt to your system. rwd mounts and waterlines just make it all easier and tidier but they're f**ken hard to find and expensive nowadays.

i think thats about it...but i am hungover so maybe not :x

even that isnt entirely necesary. its basically so you dont get dust and crap fly up into your flywheel/clutch etc which isnt a good thing i suppose. you can make up your own plate to cover the bottom part, and use a fwd backing plate for the top part though.

im just using a standard fwd one, nothing on the bottom half and ive never had any problems...

The most important thing the backing plate does is correctly locate your starter motor.
I don't know BUT...
I would guess that you could use a backing plate off a fwd 3a, 4a, etc. I havent compared them but I guess that a fwd could do the job.
if the starter is on the correct side for your rwd gearbox. Lots of AE82 corollas will have the starter on the correct side.
Any comments on this theory?

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
