Where is my fuel pump gone?

Postby Fex_ » Sun Dec 03, 2006 5:38 pm

OK I have searched and looked at diagrams of my tank/fuel setup and nothing shows or tells me where the fuel pump is on my car, I just can't find it! Its not in the centre where the tank float thingy is and I can't see any other opening under the seat or underneath the car.

Its an AE92 1989 Levin. Please help, cheers. :)

To get to your fuel pump you need to remove the petrol tank from the car. When removed you will see where the fuel lines enter the tank. Remove the lid with the fuel lines on it, and that is where your fuel pump lives... :P

PLEASE be careful and remember to disconnect the wires to the float and pump (both connectors are probably next to each other) before you drop the tank! also might be wise to disconnect the fuel lines, otherwise you might accidentally rip something off

A lot of Toyota fwd cars have access to the fuel pump by removing the rear seat cushion and undoing an access panel.
Check under your backseat before you remove the fuel tank.

What are you trying to do?

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

The only thing you can pull out of the tank under the rear seat on an AE92 is the fuel level float.
The pump sits further back in the tank.
Trust me been there done that :)
