a 4AFE AE101 has 115HP, it was either down a long hill or the speedo's inaccurate.

Fastest ive been is speed cut in the GT4...speedo shows around 200ish, but i suspect it is around 180k

Anyone know if theres anywhere around to do top speed tests LEGALLY? Like hiring out an airport of some sort? Id really like to know how fast the GT4 can go.

I hit the speed cut in mine. Can't do it on the back of puke though, too short.

I seriously doubt that any 4afe actually has 115hp with no modifications. And I never dyno'd my old bone stock one, but it was on a flat straight piece of road, i may have had a tail wind but my mainsail was down.

And of course the speedo was innacurate, they all are arent they? I just know it was 200ish because of the speed limiter.

Is it so difficult to belive? bluetop hits speed cut easily enough, and they're rated to what? 120hp or something? It's not like im saying i hit speedcut in a 2k powered starlet :|

straight out top end speed is a simple thing really, its HP vs Drag co-efficient. I used the radar gun on the route P super spring in TGA for many years and i know what kinda HP cars had and the speeds they came thru at, and the 'straight' was longer than pukekohe's straight. On a VERY long piece of road I suppose its possible but it wouldn't get there in a hurry.

just on 200 in my MR2, going off the RSM which has been calibrated to a gps. Some back road way out in the sticks. Fastest I have been on the track is 185 at the last trackday. MR2s are scary at that speed, imagine more power! 8O

about 205 in a MkII escort. I say about because it was well off the clock and the speed was taken off the rev counter (which was also a bit past redline). It would be about right as it did 180 quite easy and it was a nice cold morning with a long straight slightly downhill sectrion of road.

Oh and it has a 90 degree bend at the end of it, that was the same day I learned what brake fade was 8O 8O 8O

I was trying to keep up with what I later found out was the pace car for the Queenstown street race

When in doubt, down and out.

Did 250something in my old R33 GTR (according to the pfc). Ran out of private road though... still had a fair bit of 5th to go - but who really knows :?

Tell me about it, believe it or not though, they sit back down and behave after about 210. I did 240 in mine (turbo gze), it had a 240k speedo and tyres that were actually taller than stock so it was possibly more than 240k's. At that speed it sat real nice.

Done about 240 in the supra too (speedo hard up at zero), totally effortless really, just ran out of road. Gonna put taller tyres on the rear soon when its single'd and doing the 300k run 8)
