Haha, water powered cars. Never going to happen

The "work of the devil" thing was probably because people didn't understand a combustion engine. The water/fuelstar thing is bollocks as people can understand it and there is no way it can work

Its recommended you install your flux capacitor before trying to run your car on water.

reading your thread, i value your EXPERIENCED opinion usually, but in this case, it does not look like anyone has done a test on the dyno wether or not this works.
...
everyone is bagging it but all the test you see, (i searched them too) says fuel savings, now F*ck fuel savings i want POWEr, and he guarantees it or money back, so... whats there to lose...
I WILL GET ONE
and take my car to the dyno, if there is no power gain, i will post up a thread saying "fuel star a fraud" and we can continue to biatch at this product:)
i will be the guinea pig here guys:D
if it works, i will recommend it....
Beat me to it... I was planning to do a dyno test too.. Probably not till mid Jan when i have some money... I wanted braggin rights if it does work...

Postby TRDmod » Fri Dec 08, 2006 5:35 pm

Ok
i have installed a fuel star.
this morning

so far i cant notice any dramatic difference but they say that you have to sometimes wauit to run in the unit.

I have noticed though that my car stoped "popping" at the tail pipe, i used to get very slight back fire, not it doesnt... which is i guess a sign ..
but i will taket o dyno on feb when its definately been run in. Its been mounted on the place where the old water air intercooler where there is lots of vibrations, on idle alone, the vibration is bvery vocal and you can hear it so it is definaltey a good place for it.

so now im just waiting till dyno day

How can you quantify a gain if its not identical? Or are you going to remove it and do a run, then put it back in? How exactly does it need to be run in?

Yah, you'd have to remove the front mount, otherwise the dyno comparison is entirely meaningless.

Hmmmm I have a mental picture of the "running in period" being associated with the "running off with your money period"!

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

I'm wondering exactly how the dyno run will tell us what change was the Loch Ness Fuelstar, and what change was due to the new intercooler.

well the guarantee was if you are not satisfied.. if i am not satisfied with a 100% power gain i can still get a refund, so it doesnt really matter does it, the new intercooler isnt gonna boost power up HUGE.

if the next time i go on the dyno and i get a really good curve then that is an improvement from both mods...

you guys are closeminded, its amazing, why dont you try it, its free to try it.

the running in period is not really any period of time, its supposd to work straight away
but im basically waiting till feb cos thast when the dyno day is so it gives the fuel star a fair chance of runing in.

and the money back guarantee is not a time limit according to the ad in NZPC.... so i have nothing to lose but the dyno day.....

like i said ill be your guinea pig

yeah but how will you know if the fuelstar makes any gain? you cant... thats the point. if you get 5kw more... how do you know where that 5kw came from?

even still back to back runs can be inconsistent so as warrick said how do you know where it came from. better/coler airflow on the 2nd run could account for any gains. trying to measure small gains like 5-10kw its really not possible to be accurate unless you only have like 90kw to start with.

You have hit the nail on the head when it comes to water powered cars, anyone who thinks they can make one should take a look at the second law of themodynamics before they waste their time.

Go and talk to bob homeward he is an agent for fuel star . I asked him about installing it on my caldina which he did not recomend. He has dyno tested it on his own cars . Got no performance gain but allowed him to run the car on 91 unleaded instead of 98 without the engine pinking and gets a little better mileage out of a tank . So it works but it doesnt.
