changing automatic g/box oil

hey guys,

never had to do this before,

Do i just fill through the dip stick hole ?


car is a toyota cynos 5E-FE if that makes any difference ?

how many liters do they usually need also any brand / kind of auto box oil the best ?

best way is to get it to auto trans place to do it for you, as you cannot change all oil but only 50% of it... They have special machine to "suck" old out and put new one in ...

Catch what you drain and see how much there is, usually gives an idea of how much to put back in. Probably best to get a transmission place to do it though unless you're confident enough to change/clean the filter in there too.

Torque converter usually holds a couple of litres of oil. Not usually an issue if the oil isn't completely stuffed as it will mostly be new when you fill it back up. Dexron III used in a fair few cars, most likely what you'll need but check just in case
