yep thats what happened to mine or they split and make a hurr of mess
i did my ae82 ones, just trying to remeber how I did it lol, it was pretty easy you just remove the hub nut, loosen the 3 top strut bolts and then remove the caliper and the bolt at the bottom of the strut (on the suspension arm), and then push the suspension arm down with your foot and that taperd shaft might pop out with and luck or you might have to lever it. tap the side of it with hammer first that help I found.
Pull the strut away from the car from you abit the half shaft should pop out the gearbox, and then CV come's out of the hub, will have the driveshaft attached, put driveshaft in vice and then bash the cv off with abit of wood and a hammer.
im sure ive missed stuff and that was on a ae82 that didnt have a 4age.
