Postby Soarer T » Wed Dec 13, 2006 3:07 pm

just want to ask how big the difference between MK2 and Mk3 supea manual conversion. like: crossmeber, padel box and drive shaft etc.

also, are G series bellhousings all the same? i have got a 1GEU bellhousing, just want to know that if this will fit 1GGTEU or not?

hope someone will have more knowledge than me. cheers.

are you trying to do a manual conversion in a mkiii using mkii bits, or what? you can use the auto ecu, i do, no problems, and the crossmember thing you need to change would be the gearbox mount, the one under the engine is the same auto and manual. the clutch master and slave are cheap, buy new ones so you dont end up having some that crap out after 2 months of driving like mine did.

I used a mk2 pedal box in my mk3 when i done my conversion.

Only parts that need modifying are the holes in the firewall, mk3 pedal box has the bolts on a 60 degree angle and the mk2 ones are on a 45 degree angle, you also have to cut a tag of metal out from the dash to allow the arm to travel up unhindered and lastly you need to make up a short ~50mm bracket to go from the top of the firewall (where the top of the box bolts) and to the box itself.

can't use the driveshaft, the front half is a differant length.

thats true, m8. just found out today. actually, the front shaft where goes into the gearbox got different tooth as well. MK2 only got 21 as where MK3 got 23.

does any one got ideas that the manual gearbox from mk2 and mk3 got different output shaft with different tooth?today, i just tried mk2 both manual and auto driveshaft to the box. they fit ok. but mk3 auto driveshaft wont fit the manual box ( different tooth as messioned b4).by comparing the driveshaft of MK2 and Mk3, MK3 also got bigger shaft i guess.

also, the auto gearbox from Mk3 supra is A340E. MK2 auto box is :A43DL,

i m just wondering if they are totally different box or similar. one thing i can garuntee is that: the driveshaft which out of auto one from MK2 can bolt into W5*box, but i dont know if the auto drive shaft from MK3 can bolt to W5*box ?

did some Mk2 manual conversion, but this is first time i m doing Mk3 manual conversion. some one must got more knowlege than me.

nope, again the auto box is longer than the manual box meaning the D/shaft from the auto is shorter than the manual, not sure on spline count, i've got one in the garage so if your that interested i could go and count :)

which one have you got? manual or auto. i have already count the spline for MK2 and Mk3 d/shaft. if you do have a manual d/shaft lying arround, i would like to know the spline from the yoke. cheers.

found out that they are not the same. with manual g/box. the auto x-member is apox 1 inch away from the holes. that was interesting.

if you rotate the rear xmember it'll match up to two of the holes on the body then youu only need to weld on a couple of tags about 30mm long to get the second set of holes, Failing that, rotate it, and put two strips of plate steel running parrelled to the tunnel which can be bolted to the rear set of holes and the front (along with the xmember)
