WOF and suspension.

Postby ollieboy » Wed Dec 13, 2006 9:44 pm

I passed a warrant with my car recently and I was expecting to fail because of something. It got me thinking about my suspension though, how do they test it during a warrant to see its safe?

When I brake my Back lifts pretty high off the ground and the front dips right down and it just looks silly, surely this can't be safe can it? Or is it just because its an old Toyota thats similar to driving a whale?

My old sprinter failed on all four shocks for apprently being "to soft" They were not leaking and did not bounce, just extreamly soft. Took it to the next place and they did not even mention them.

Thats not a bad thing though, shocks can be poked without leaking. If the AW passed a WOF with the shocks as is I'd be stoked!

Well generally things are failed for a reason, but obviously some inspectors are harder on some things, quite often happens if we get pulled up for passing something that shouldnt have been passed we get the memo and then for the next 2 weeks are real anal about double checking that part lol

Yes but what is to soft? How it that judged. I know how they tested them, ie pushed on them and made sure they came back up as my old man used to work at the place

Didn't you replace them with new ones which turned out to feel exactly the same?
