60 series Carina headlights

Postby Hachiroku » Thu Dec 21, 2006 3:22 pm

Just wondering what's needed to swap to quad headlights on my AA60? Is it just headlights and surrounds or would I need guards, bonnet etc aswell?

From looking at the twin round light setup from a carina wagon: (compared to AA60 rectangular normal lights)

the front grill is much narrower, and the mounting points that come off the centre of the radiator support area are in a different place. (I think these are spot welded to the car, cant remember)

Gaurds may need to change too.

But yeah, either way, it's not a direct swap in job unfortunately!

I havent seen the twin square lights, but I'd imagine they'd be the same, they definitely have the narrower front grill.

Also with the twin round lights, the front indicators were in the bumper, so you may need that too if it's the same deal for the square light ones?

Sorry, should have been more specific. Mainly curious about the twin square headlight setup. I reckon twin round headlights would look mega rude on a coupe :x

Yes I know you were talking about twin square lights...
And yes I agree, twin round lights dont suit it at all. :?

But the setup will be more or less the same, narrower grill etc.

It looks as though I'm right, looking at these two pics:
(note - indicators on front bumper, narrower grill)
