i have my car in bits currently for a bit of maintenance. it occured to me that my exhaust manifold is pretty damn ugly, being made of steam pipe and with a few untidy welds,it kinda make the car looks slapped together(probly not helped by the legions of cable ties keeping everything in place

) and also pretty damn close to my radiator. im considering heat wrapping it all while its easy to get to.
is heat wrapping it going to improve temps around the back of radiator at all? is it actually useful for anything other than hiding ugly welds
is it going to have any adverse effect on the manifold/turbo etc?
oh use of car is , occasional street/drag racing, and light circuit racing up to 10lap sessions.
