its simple guys just interested who does all of the work /modifications on your car.....
1 I do all of the work myself
2 I do as much as i can but end up paying someone else most of the time
3 I always prefer to pay for someone else to do it
[edit - BlakJak - Try actually MAKING it a Poll...]

I service my own car and do lil stuff, all you can with a ratchet set and 3 screwdrivers
When i bought my springs the bolts on the car were rusted on so i forked out to pay for that, which i dont regret coz it looks a lot better on insurance.
stuff like brakes i feel dodge doing at home, but i still do coz i'm cheap.
which is prolly why my brakes sqeal something chronic

I do most of the work on my car. Unless its something like an engine change. Il try do everything else I can cuz it saves so much money, and If your a true car enthusiast you should WANT to work on your car anyways.

Who does the work on your car
Well i try to do as much as i can except wheels, I believe that the more you do on your own car the more you learn about cars, probably more than any course will probably teach you.
I use to pay for some one to do the work but find it interesting to get amongst it
i do all the work on my car, exect spiecist things like tyres and compression tests and wheel alignments. We got a pit in our back yard, perfect for anything, just hop down under, no lying on yer back. but if ya thinking of making one, 3 cubic meters of concrete went into ours!!
but if i cant do something, i'll ask for help, better safe than sorry

I'm still learning, so if it dosent involve cracking the engine open i'll do it, but most times I still consult my mechanic.

I do as much of it myself as i can, although i have been lazy and got my garage to do most of it. If i got the right tools and the time i'll do it myself

Seeing as it is my poll i should vote-
I am doing up a SR coupe and am trying to learn as much about cars as i can in the process. I completely stripped the engine polished the ports and lightened the flywheel myself.I have just finished putting it all back together with new bearings and seals it was good i have learnt alot i spose it helps with the fact i work with ex mechanics and own 1000's of dollars worth of tools tho

do everything myself(got to
).. can't afford to pay other people to do it, and the good thing is, I learns lots and lots from it... .. Just a student.. so no income....
Everything from when I got my car stock standard to today...(3 years)
I change all the shocks myself and have to mod abit to fit the front because got them from a Datsun
race car.
recondition all my brakes, change pads, engine oil, gearbox oil, diff oil, flywheel, wheels, tyres, battery, motify S15 radiator to fit to my car + custom piping, gauges (and make some of it like Air fuel ratio, shift light), changing bucket seat, make rail, electric fan, and all others wiring, headlight, bonnet vent, whole exhaust system, front and rear spoiler, rear strut brace.....etc
only pay to do it when I can't do it, like lighten the flywheel, wheel alighment, disk brake machining, fitting front windscreen, welding rust holes, 5 point 1/2 cage, front strut brace.
I just do as much as I can without costing me $$. You will suprice what some of the of the stuff on my car are made of/come from.
Most if the thing is just recycle... eg: custom piping for radiator from a mate's(Shinji) motorbike exhaust pipe
.. stainless steel
free S15 radiator from (Toshiki), free radiator fan from RX7 A/C fan,...
yeh, getting a Owner Manual is good to!
