what oil should i use in my standard 18r motor? its out of a 1980 toyota cressida. i was told i should use a 10w40 by my mechanic. he suggested castrol magnatec.

Use anything you like ;) Just change it often :)

we have a 0w40 at work. its pretty expensive but im told its good for race cars

Wouldnt bother, just stick a 15w40 in it, if it gets rattly with that use 20w50. Old motors dont need thin oil.

make sure you attach a bucket to teh exhause to colect all teh bypass

0-40 would turn your car into a 2 stroke :D

Good ol' Castrol GTX ftw.

20w50 goodness, I always throw it in my older motors.... works a treat. And it's cheap.

Pennzoil Multi Vis was always popular with the Alfa boys in their half knackered 1.5 flat 4's as well.
