Cusco Strut Top - Help Needed!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Guys,

Ran through a few searches and was unable to find an answer to my question...So here goes...By the way, make it simple for me, as Im not too technically minded!!!

Cusco Strut Tops

I have some Front Cusco strut tops, which has camber adjustable pillow ball mounts. Now they are making some clunking noises, and apparently they need a new fiber washer.

Now this clunking:

What would be causing the clunking noise?

How hard is it to source and fit a fiber washer?

Is it possible to recondition the strut top to eliminate this sound?

Can they be reconditioned? What is the cost of a mechanic to do the reconditioning?

Should I fix them, or just bin them, as the cost of fixing this problem would far outweigh the benefits of using them?

Benefits of Strut Tops:

Now I am running, King Spring lows, with Brand new KYB Excel G Struts.

What benefits would I get from these strut tops other than camber adjustability?

How would I adjust my camber to get most of the tyre on the road, yet minimise tyre wear?

Should I run these strut tops, or just continue with the stock tops??

If you could take a time to consider my problems and help out that would be a massive help!

Thanks again TOYSPEED

My guess would be your fiber washers on its way out... :P i think youd be best taking the car to someone like SAS or STOCKS and getting the correct parts ( possibly fitted or with pro advice to fit behind it )

lol
i have cucso strut tops and i dont have fire washers :D

any decent engineerign place will be abile to bore them out and fit a slightly oversize pillowmount or even press in a steel insert

BTW pillowmount bushes are mindboggliny expensive :D

id check my swaybar links first though :D

I have not put these pillowballs onto my car...So trust me, its not the swaybar links....

Just determing whether its worth fixing these, and installing them, or just leaving them.

Would it be an extra advantage handling wise to fix and install?

yes setup properly they will make your car drive better ...however if you dont set them up properly they will make it handle like utter arse

how much is ok to spend
pillowmoiunts can be 20-100 a pop to relace depending on the type and sizeings

......
thats as good as its gunna get

adydas is correct
take it to a suspention shop and see what they think
we no nothign about your car or what you wanna do with it so any advice here is pointless
